Mów mi Marianna
Director Karolina Bielawska accompanies Marianna for several years, and their closeness shapes the film. Family archives and staged images take the place of conventional talking-head interviews, allowing Marianna to give meaning to her experience. This is a film about loneliness and the cost of living as oneself. Bielawska portrays illness, rejection and loss with tenderness rather than sensationalism.
